Flight Illusion – B737 Flap gauge (GSA 14)

Last week I post a second-hand Flap gauge’ received from a Russian cockpitbouwer.

This ‘Flap gauge’ of Flight Illusion is provided with a ‘single needle’ and will be connected to a Central Interface Module (GSA-55)’.

The gauge is equipped with a steppermotor, which should ensure a smooth movement of the needle.

The Flap gauge is supplied without a frame or frame (bezel) and can directly be built behind the existing MIP-panels FlyEngravity and FDS.

Window liner – Pad assy upper LH/RH side

Also Flybycockpits I have the 2 special window liners (Pad assy upper LH/RH side) that can be found in both corners of the windshield with the front side windows. This ‘papegaaienbekken’ forms a part of the full window liner in the corner.

The function of this strange window liner is to prevent the handle to the side door to open by chance is unlocked by a careless touch or bump of the crew. The ‘papegaaienbek’ is therefore just above the handle.

Also go back to what we are used to from Flybycockpits is the finish of this window liner very well executed.

Behringer XENYX 302USB PA and studio mixer

I have experienced the use of the Ruscool Intercom boards’ that the sound of the pc a little dull happens and there is too much bass is heard.

Since the pc with Teamspeak does not have a sound card with a software mixer or equalizer, I have a mixer purchased in order to solve this problem.

This cheap mini-mixer (€45) I have purchased from Bax.nl. The mixer is particularly small and can thus easily be placed anywhere.

Vensterhandvat with mounting plate

Of Flybycockpits I have this week 2 handles ingested, and this, together with the metal plates. They will work on the lower DV window liners’ to be confirmed.

The handle should be to the left and right heated windshield close or unlock. In a home cockpit, these must be handles just as decoration.

The metal mounting plates are used for the handles in the right place to attach the lower DV window liners’ as well as with the real aircraft. The handles and mounting plates to give a more realistic view.

The handles are accurate and smoothly finished. The metal plates are made of solid metal of 2 mm thickness and provided with mounting holes provided.

Everything is painted in a Boeinggrijze color. As usual, the products of Flybycockpits very beautiful and carefully finished. A must !

Test Ruscool intercom boards

The intercom boards of Ruscool I have connected and tested. Ruscool provides the user with a good guide with accompanying images.

Provided that the use of the right nutrition and following the correct connectors is the sound quality is good and trouble-free.

The possibilities of these cards are extensive and they fit perfectly in the world of homecockpitbouwers.

The service from Ruscool is excellent. Any additional questions can be immediately extended answer.

LED dimmers

I have to DealExtreme (China) 2 LED dimmers purchased. They are completely stripped so that I just the printed circuit board and the potentiometer.

That will be later in the sidewalls under the Map/Chart Light panel mounted for controlling the Map Lights (next to the FWD OVH) and the ‘Grimes-Lights (in the middle of the sidewalls).

The actual "Chart Light" above the side windows have with me a built-in on/off switch without dimmer.

It is not the first time that I've bought at DealExtreme. DealExtreme is cheap and the shipping is free.

Grimes light

I have a while ago a ‘GRIMES-’ light received from a friend cockpitbouwer and fellow of the Flight Simulator Club 27Sqn.

This light comes from an old B737 and you can find them in the ‘sidewalls’ and the ‘backwall’.

First, I go the ‘Grimes-’ light a thorough overhaul which it will later be attached to links on the ‘backwall’.

Ruscool intercom boards

To the internal to establish communication between pilot and co-pilot I have a few second-hand " Ruscool intercom boards’ on the head can tap.

According to the seller never used and right out of the box ...

Per station you have one intercomkaart necessary, i.e. one for the Capt and one for the F/O. You can expand with a third card, for example, the instructor or observer.

These cards are made at the company Ruscool out of New Zealand.

Later these’ intercom boards’ built-in ‘avionics pedestal’

The previous intercomproject I stopped due to serious issues with the microphones.

Chart/Map light panels

At the front on both sides (Capt and F/O) of the sidewall tables are located in the ‘ Chart/Map Light Panels. On these panels are the buttons to the ad (Map Light) in addition to the FWD overhead to adjust and the light (Chart light) located above the front side window.

The 2 panels come from FlyEngravity and the buttons, I partially made myself.

Standby Instruments

The standby instruments serve as a backup in case of a defect or for a X-check of the PFD and ND (DU's).

In the MIP of the B737-800 there are three (or two) standby instruments.
Three instruments for the analog version and 2 instruments for the digital version. The first Stby instrument is then covered with a picture.

The newer B737-800 (NG) are more and more equipped with a digital version, i.e. a digital ISFD and a standard RMI.

I have this MIP is equipped with 2 digital standby instruments ISFD and RMI).

The standby instruments are located between the Upper Eicas and the DU’s of the Capt.
