Sidebar sidewalls

For the construction of the sidewalls or sides of the cockpit, I first started with the thick sidebar from the front/side MIP runs to the back of the cockpit.

This bar is located between the Dv Window armrest/Chart holder’ and the ‘sidewalls’.

Images and info of this sidebar is to be found at the following link :

DV window armrest/chart holder

The DV window armrest/chart holder is to be found at the bottom of the front side windows. This ‘DV window armrest/chart holder, a Chart Holder Clip’ with associated plate attached to vliegkaartjes at the bottom.

On the front is also the (dummy) handle attached to the front side door to open.

The ‘armrest’ hear actually at home at the chapter of the ‘window liners’, but is the beginning of the construction of the ‘sidewalls’.

Startup / Shutdown computers

In a homecockpit one can find usually 3 to 4 computers to all of the hardware with software to send and to function properly.

To all software to start up and to close off we are for a while ...

To this startup/shutdownprocessen to simplify, we can make use of a few handy tools that be provided for free and is already partially present in our cockpitsoftware.

It is intended to with one press of a button, all programs, one behind the other to start, and after the flight the programs to close, and then the ‘shutdown’ of all computers.

Everything is so ‘Full Automatic’. This we can all with FSUIPC ...

CDU FlyEngravity Version 2

During the FSWeekend I have the new CDU version v2 of FlyEngravity purchased.

First I played with the idea of the display of the v1 to be replaced by a color screen but because of the favourable purchase conditions, the various discounts and the selling of my " old " CDU I decided to go ahead with the purchase of ‘the new’ from FlyEngravity.

This new member of FlyEngravity is a beautiful product and a superverbetering t.o.v. version 1. It makes a world of difference and is compared with the transition from a 2cv to a Ferrari...!!!

Flight Illusion – Central Interface Module (GSA-55)

Also from a fellow builder, I have a second-hand Flight Illusion-module (GSA-55) bought for €50 (bargain price). These I will use for the management of a number of Flight Illusion gauges.

On this central interface module can 4 wires be connected to each cord 16 modules. A module can be a ‘gauge’ (bell), In/output module or a radio module.

This interface module is powered via a connector on a PC power supply (5/12V). The card is then connected to a computer via a USB cable.

Flight Illusion – B737 Flap gauge (GSA 14)

Last week I post a second-hand Flap gauge’ received from a Russian cockpitbouwer.

This ‘Flap gauge’ of Flight Illusion is provided with a ‘single needle’ and will be connected to a Central Interface Module (GSA-55)’.

The gauge is equipped with a steppermotor, which should ensure a smooth movement of the needle.

The Flap gauge is supplied without a frame or frame (bezel) and can directly be built behind the existing MIP-panels FlyEngravity and FDS.
