USB Display Adapter

Hardware that should be interesting to have in the cockpit is the use of a USB Display Adapter.

The USB Display Adapter (J5create) has the function of an ‘external graphics card’. It is not uncommon for one to low VGA/DVI or HDMI connections on a computer, and then comes this adapter.

This adapter is on the one side is connected with a monitor and the other side connected to a free USB port on the pc. With this adapter, there is also a manual and a CD with the necessary driver.
After the install of the driver can be the display via USB to use in 4 modes : Extended, Mirror, Primary, and Display Rotation.

You can in Windows by the way 4 of these adapters to connect.

This USB VGA Display Adapter(s) I'm connecting to the 5" TFT LCD screens that I'm going to use for the digital Boeing 737 standby instruments.

I have this USB Display Adapter(s) purchased from Conrad.be and they are available in 3 sizes : VGA, DVI, and HDMI.

Monitors 5"

Last week, I have three TFT LCD monitors 5” received from China. Two monitors I'm going to use for the digital standby instruments ISFD and RMI).

The third display will be used for my FlyEngravity-CDU to provide a color display. Currently, this CDU is still a monochrome (grey) screen.

This 5”-displayschermpjes are of a good quality-to-price, and the service of the Chinese company ‘Good Display"can I be a great call. Quick replies to emails, very helpful with any questions, very fast handling and shipping (3 days China-Belgium-FedEx).

The service is TOP !

Teamviewer

TeamViewer provides an All-In-One solution for a large number of scenarios in one single software package: remote maintenance, spontaneous support, access to unattended computers, home office, online meetings, presentations, training sessions and teamwork.

I use Teamviewer to via a central computer remote to the different programs on various pc's to boot necessary to my cockpit to make them operational (FS, Prosim737 and modules, Sioc, AFAS, ProSimUtils, Ivap, PFPX, Topcat, Active Sky, Jeppview, FSC).

Also useful afterwards to a ‘remote shutdown’ of all the programs and pc's.

In the cockpit of a sit often different ‘icons’ on the screen and hidden it behind a certain cockpitonderdeel (e.g. MIP). Than is Teamviewer a handy aid to them ...

Teamviewer is definitely a must for those with multiple computers and screens should work !

Console document pockets

The tables of the ‘sidewalls’ are on both sides equipped with a compartment (console, document pocket), and for the storage of all kinds of documents, such as vliegkaartjes, flightplans, or checklists. One can also be a mobile phone or wallet in it.

It seems like an insignificant part but useful, by the way ...

Grounding

For my own safety and also for that of my cockpitapparatuur I have the metal cockpitframe and the metal cockpitvloer with grounding.

Between the spaghetti of cables I sleeve a ground wire bolted to the cockpitvloer and the cockpitframe. The other side of the grounding wire is connected to the ground conductor of an electrical outlet.

An intervention that does not cost any money and still can be useful.

You never know ....

Wipers

A snack that I was between the Christmas and Nieuwjaarsdagen together have pieced the windscreen wipers (wipers) on the ‘windshield’.

Not that I rain expected in my cockpitroom but this is again an additional part to the realism of the cockpit up to boost.

With a couple of Euros, and what little material is this job quickly fixed.

Double I-Rails

The cockpitzetels in my cockpit come from a C-130 Hercules plane and this with the original track. These seats can with the corresponding I-rails only front and move backwards. Since these seats are in width is there between the seat and pedestal is no room to get in and out.

Now in the construction of the ‘sidewalls’ is not possible anymore along the outside in - and out steps. Therefore, it was urgently necessary to a rail or sliding system to find where the seats to the left and to the right can scroll them in and out can happen in between seat and pedestal.

With what creations I can solve it by a second linear track system to mount under the current and original rails.
