TFT-outs in the MIP mode, and placing monitors

FlyEngravity has the necessary cut-outs made in the MIP-bottom to the 19"screens to them to begin. For they are sufficient to allow countersinking must be a part of the front of the MIP-stand cut out. The screens would be +- 15 mm need and therefore are therefore not under the table. I also need to take into account that the space that is cut out should be more than enough for the buttons on the front of the TFT's.

Also a couple of inches extra cut out from the base plate of the MIP for the F/O monitor. The planned cutout for the VGA connector was not sufficient to allow the full monitor to the right on the slide.

Ready !

The Desktop ICS MIP is ready and ready to be picked up. Even an email sent to Robert from FlyEngravity what the dimensions are of the board where the MIP attached to it. Rear seats in our Ford C-Max met and quickly measured or the whole thing goes in.

Then at 13.30 Hr with Ria in the direction of Alphen aan den Rijn for a ride 1Hr30.

On arrival was the Desktop MIP is already packed for his trip to Overpelt. Robert had it all neatly in the plastic wrapped and was as well protected against a hitter. With its 152 cm (with shelf) was this just in the car.
After a bit of technical info asked to have Robert and some small randmateriaal went back in the direction of Belgium.

At 18.30 Hr we were back home and could see the Desktop MIP be unloaded in the direction of " cockpitroom’.

Mission completed !

MIP stand

The MIP mode, where the desktop MIP at is ready. Pictures and explanations are found at Hardware/MIP.

The CDU-stand is already cut out but I have to wait on the Desktop MIP to see if all the dimensions are correct. Afterwards, the CDU-stand mounted and finished.

Today, a message had Robert (FlyEngravity) that make it even a few days is going to take for that, the MIP is ready. The middle section of the ICS system will be replaced by an update.

State of affairs

This weekend on leave in the near Alphen a/d Rijn. So but once binnengesprongen at FlyEngravity to see how far they are with my MIP system. The MIP-part is far off, just the glareshield, with associated MCP, Efis and annunciators must be mounted. Meanwhile, I have ordered 737-yoke taken to the house. The MIP system will be behind a week or two to be ready.

The blog

Today started the blog to get to know. The body was put together by my son Kenny. I don't have much cheese eaten regarding PHP and MySQL, and therefore I leave this to specialists in the field.
In the beginning is not simple. It is a little ‘play’ with everything to you the way that you have found. Kind of fun to sit down to tinker with it. You can hardly go wrong, and everything is immediately on the screen. No surprises like on a traditional website.

09 Nov 2009

My birthday. Important date. Not so much because it's my birthday but because today I the green light to have put concerns the start of the cockpitproject.

The last visit to FlyEngravity during the Flight Sim Show (FSWeekend in Lelystad has me convinced. We still have to wait when the ICS system to purchase is made.

Visit FSWeekend Lelystad

On Saturday 07 november 2009, I am for the umpteenth time, of a visit to the FSWeekend in Lelystad. One of the biggest (according to insiders, the largest) tradeshow in the world. At least in regards to hardware choice, topics and FSClubs.

This time I went, above all, more targeted to Lelystad. The state of FlyEngravity was the ‘target’. The people of FlyEngravity had a new Desktop MIP in their production and this time in real size. Cheaper than its sibling the ProLine. Ideal for the average flightsimmer.

During this visit to the FlyEngravity-stand showed that they are still there a little extra to have done. The new Desktop MIP, was equipped with the " Integrated Cockpit Systems,’ in other words, Plug and Play. Just what I'm looking for ...
More info about this in the HARDWARE/MIP page.
