Flight Test

The past weekend was an important weekend. Those days were reserved for a full-fledged test flight to perform with a full, but provisional, setup. The flight was scheduled to Berlin (EDDT) to Brussels (EBBR).

At first it was all the hardware to get such as the Yoke, rudder, CDU, MCP, ICS, throttels, avionics and of course the MIP.

And not to mention a full-fledged FSLabs driver of the net pick for the PMDG to work with the MIP.

Then it was the turn of the screen-setup of the External view, PFD, ND, Upper and lower EICAS. And then a startup situation and afsaven.

The screen setup was a lot of fiddling to get everything in its right place to get both the TFT's in Windows as the PFD, ND and Eicas on the TFT's. Also, not all ‘situations’ I could load, however, via a detour... strange...

A downside was that the Gear lever is not working properly. It works the other way around than FS. The problem is passed on to FlyEngravity. It will probably be a plug on the gearswitchen that on a wrong place...

The frame rate fell. No noemswaardige problems encountered in Berlin (Add-On) and Brussels (Add-on).
Hereby I must mention that the flight offline has been executed and with little or no cloud cover.

As regards the flight itself, it is something to get used to. You have always the habit to go to the vliegtuigpanel in FS, to go instead to the hardwareuitvoering. For the rest everything works fine and it was a successful ‘flight test’. It gives an almost-real feeling. A very different dimension of flying and the experience of flightsim... (and it tastes like yet !).

Aluminiumbekleding of the ruddervloeren

The coating of the ruddervloeren with aluminum is cut and pasted. Alu-plates of 1 mm is sufficient. Together with the permanent staff such as decopeerzaag, houtklemmen, screwdriver and metaalvijl is this job easily done.

The story of this job is to find on page Hardware/MIP/Rudder pedals – Stands.

MIP-Tags (Placards)

To the MIP bit more realistic to come true, I have MIP-tags engraving. This MIP-tags or placards are for different Airlines to find the MIP. The place where they should be applied are not determined by the CAA, they should clearly and visibly be made.
