Frame overheads – Which method

The support frame to the overhead to confirm is ready. There remains for me only to paint.

The construction of this metal frame was a work of long breath. To this construction there was lots of measuring and adaptation work. It looks simple but it is not to be underestimated ...

There must be taken into consideration with various factors such as height, MIP, the correct angle of inclination for the both OVH's, the correct heights and distances. Also, I hereby have to take into account the B737-windows afterwards on the right place and height to mount this metal frame.

Throughout the history of the construction of this construction is to follow on the following page : http://www.flightdeck737.be/hardware/fwd-aft-overhead/overheadconstructie/

Custom Glareshield MIP

I have my glareshield of the Desktop MIP is replaced by the glareshield of a ProLine MIP.

I want the B737-windows from FlyEngravity use and that does not fit the Desktop MIP (glareshield, and a portion of the MIP-frame in the way). These windows are made to use with a ProLine MIP with a ProLine Glareshield.

To this new glareshield to be working I have on the front (sharp) edge of a rubber strip made and on top of a replica of a B737 Folder-Pocket.

Additional information and photos can be found on page http://www.flightdeck737.be/hardware/mip/desktop-mip/

Useful toetsenbordje

This wireless toetsenbordje that I use is of Trust and is equipped with a ‘docking station’ in which the toetsenbordje is placed for charging. I got this keyboard a few years ago charged and still not have to reload.

This toetsenbordje is relatively small and flat. So handy to have somewhere to put in a checklisthouder or the way to lay on a small place.
Dimensions are : Length 305 mm, width 120 mm, thickness from 6 mm to 8 mm.

It is also equipped with a built-in ‘mousepad’, in which the use of a mouse is not necessary. The baart or any exercise with a finger, this gem to operate. But practice makes perfect...

Energy-Check 3000

Any idea how much power in Watts by the power sockets being hunted when a cockpit in full action ?

Are the electrical outlets not overloaded ?

What is the price of electricity for a few hours cockpitgenot ?

The Energy-Check 3000 gives answers to. This energiekostenmeter gives a simple way to consumption and energy costs of your cockpit.

This device is developed for monitoring and measuring electrical loads. By entering a rate (rate 1 or 2), the energy of the measured load(s) calculated and shown on the display.

Input Director

Despite the fact that a cockpit can be controlled with buttons and switches is still controlled by computers and software. And with computers now once mice and keyboards. A simcockpit without mice and keyboards is utopian and not realistic.

The trick is that mice and keyboards reduce to a minimum.

With the software tool ‘Input Director’, it is possible to restrict the use of one mouse and one keyboard.

This free program works on the master/slave principle, is easy to configure and has no delay. It is to be download on following link : http://www.inputdirector.com/

I use this program with 3 pc's and 7 monitors and it works flawlessly for the full setup.

Highly recommended.

Cockpit Voice Recorder

The CVR panel in the FWD Overhead has no function in a simcockpit. That don't want to say that we have this panel unterminated. That extra level of realism is part of it... “As real As it gets”.

Eyebrow windows

Outside the front windows (windshield) and side we have the ‘Eyebrow windows’ or the small windows that are on the left and on the right, just above the front windows.

Via Via I have a real set on the head can tap. From what the Boeing-type they come ... 707,727,737 ?

This ‘Eyebrow windows’ are in a later stage built-in.

Visit to the cockpit of Martin van Liempt

Yesterday, Saturday, a visit to the cockpit of fellow pitbouwer Martin Van Liempt from Eindhoven.

Martin been five years working on his cockpit, and is thus already in a far advanced stage. This cockpit is not yet complete, and there should be left and right updates and improvements happen for the world of cockpitbouwers is not standing still.

Martin has everything patched together (mip, throttle, seats, etc.) and are cockpitwerk may be seen. Everything is in detail and in detail finished.

This cockpit is a true pleasure for the eye and for a lot of (candidate) cockpitbouwers a ‘wet dream’.

Martin, job well done !

White toggle switch caps – Forward Overhead

The switch (APEM) on the FWD OVH are not normally fitted with white caps. After receiving a few samples from FlyEngravity I have the appropriate caps found.

If a small adjustment is successful, all the switches with white caps.
