Rear ceiling F/O ready !

The cockpitdak on F/O side (rear ceiling) is now fully complete.

After the necessary schilderbeurten is the final assembly of the aluminum part with construction and associated decals.

Behind the ‘Circuit breaker’panel, I have a few niches made with light (as in the real :-)). Also the opening in the panel of the ‘Emergency Escape Rope’ is equipped with niches.

The edges with OVH and cockpitframe I have outlined with afboordstrips such as that also found in the real guys (not all).

Now it is the turn of the ‘rear ceiling’ on CPT side. This still needs to wait for I am full bin busy with the radio modules for the pedestal.

Intercompaneel

Early last week, I have an Intercom panel ordered from FlyEngravity and a week later it was ready-made delivered to your home by UPS. About fast service !

I have this panel ‘customize’ to make for my future System.

This panel will be between the other radio modules to be built into the pedestal.
There are 2 volume buttons for adjusting the volume of the Comms between CPT and FO and 2 volume buttons will be used for the volume control of the Comms between the CPT/FO, and external (e.g. ATC IVAO).

I have these 2 last volume added to the volume controls found on the headsets to replace it. The volume control on the headsets gives serious interference in the intercom System. These existing features are so ‘gebypassed’.

In the middle of the panel there push button for whatever I may be used (e.g. bring up or hide the IVAP window).

The potentiometers on the Intercompanel will be connected with the Intercombox (with pre - and power amps) which are located on the bottom of the pedestal.

The back of the Intercompanel is also provided for backlighting.

+ 1000 Visitors!

Last week this site (blog) the threshold of 1,000 visitors per week are exceeded. Actually, there were 1006.

I had honestly never expected, despite the fact that everything here is "sold" is in English.

So we continue to just continue to do 🙂

B737 Steering Tiller – Aviation Megastore

Last week I got me a ‘B737 Steering Tiller of Opencockpits purchased in the ‘Aviation Megastore’ to Aalsmeerderburg (EN).

Upon opening the box I came to the conclusion that the handle is slightly damaged. There was a scratch on where a little bit of varnish was gone.

After an email to the ‘Aviation Megastore’ I could the same day the damaged ‘tiller’ all return for exchange.

A day later UPS already for the door with a new and good copy.

Excellent service ! TOP !

The Steering Tiller will be in the course of this year to be embedded in the Capt-sidewall.

Rear Ceiling – the Paintwork and decals

The ‘rear ceiling F/O and associated panels are now equipped with the necessary colors.

It was difficult to find the right base color to choose since we are dealing here with off-white and in it, there are several kleurentypes.

On the panels, I also have the various decals and afboordlijstjes made.

Comprehensive info with pictures is to be found on the following page : http://www.flightdeck737.be/hardware/platform/ceiling/rear-ceiling/

CPFlight radio modules

I am the previous Saturday the CPFlight-radio modules from FlyEngravity.

Before I go about the installation I need a few adjustments to my homemade pedestal like additional wearing points for the mounting racks, and Fire Panel.

I have a couple of years ago, the pedestal built, and so I then also have to take into account that the racks (should) fit. It is perhaps divine providence, but they fit to the millimeter.

So to see me with a mountain of work waiting for ... Nice work 🙂

New stuff at FlyEngravity

At my visit to FlyEngravity, last Saturday, I noticed that they have a cockpitshell in production.

This "shell" is made out of plastic (polyester ?) where the ‘interior’ is also integrated such as the ceiling, window liners, and sidewalls.

It was, above all, this ‘shell’ compact is made and that you so easily can fit in a standard room.

Price : Unknown.

Another novelty is the production of a completely new CDU. This will be made out of metal and equipped with a colour display.

Price and release : Unknown

Their planning also includes the construction of cockpitstoelen and the corresponding J-rails.

Price and release : Unknown

So ‘wait and see’. We are curious ...

Trip The Netherlands

Yesterday I with son Kenny, a trip done to our neighbors. What were our ‘targets’ :

  • FlyEngravity in Alphen a/Rijn for the pick up of the radio modules for my pedestal;
  • Aviation Megastore in Aalsmeerderbrug for the purchase of a ‘Steering Tiller’;
  • Spotterscorners of Schiphol Airport.

That last was very impressive, especially if there is a B747 flies over your head shave ...

Wel koud en winderig ...

Cold and windy ...
