Forward Overhead operational

After the tinkering of the metal frame to which the overheads need to come hang out, and the confirmation of the FWD Overhead it is time for this to be operational.

The cable routing goes through the metal bracket of 80 mm. This is for the 12V-power supply with adapter (which I extended to do), the cable of the backlightverlichting of the dummy gauges, the ICS USB cable and the cable of the overhead spotlight’ (Flood light).

B737 Windows Setup and installation

After making the metal frame for the OVH's now turn to the FlyEngravity-windows to mount against the support frame.

Previously I have already measured how this B737-windows must be installed at this frame, i.e. the height t.o.v. of the FWD Overhead, the pre-drilling of the attachment points against the middenstut and the brackets in the rear. After the installation, you must all the windows on the top level.

Frame-overhead – Confirmation overhead

The final stage in the making of this metal frame is the confirmation of the overhead.

This means the coverboxen (ovh-frames) to the support arm.

Frame-overhead – Connections and installation

To this frame, in other hand, there are 5 connections, or links :

  • Connection between steunvork and MIP-frame;
  • Connection between front steunvork and support arm;
  • Connection between the suspension arm and the transverse strut;
  • Connection between the transverse strut and upright steunbenen;
  • Connection between the upright steunbenen and the B737-side windows.

Frame-overhead – Composition and painting

The frame is made of iron installation/meubelbuizen of 40mm x 40mm x 3mm and 80mm x 40mm x 2mm.
The tubes are purchased at Hardware Store Vanbeeck in Leopoldsburg.

The whole metal structure is composed of 5 parts.

The painting of the frame at this time is not done with brush and roller but with a simple painting system had that I bought in Aldi.

Frame-overhead – Dimensions and measuring

On the Internet have different dimensions. I have the dimensions held that to be found on the website of Markuspilot.com.

I started with all the draw out on graph paper. First, the MIP platform scale and then the support frame.
I have a few ‘goals’ or referentieafmetingen respected with the rest of the construction should follow in the further drawings.
